One Week

Despite my attempts to grow my peppers hanging upside down - they are reaching for the sky.

For the last week temperatures in Peterborough have had a 25 degree average. These temperatures have allowed my plants to get a great start in there pots. My Sweet Million tomato plant has 5 flowers already and another 5 coming.

My Herbs are doing well too. Especially my mint and basil. Soon they are going to have to be cut back. I am thinking Mojito's and some Pizza!

Mysterious Occurance (Avocado Seed Day 3)

GONE!

Yesterday, i noticed that my seed had been knocked out of it's bowl and off the step I had so loving put it on to get some sun. I didn't think about it to much and just placed the blame on Eloise (3 years old), who lives upstairs.

This morning, when I went to check on my water level - the seed was no where to be found. After my initial frustration, I started to logically gather suspects (suspect).

1. The Mother Blackbird - who chirps at me as I garden. She looks after her little ones in the nest she's built in the corner of the eaves - which If I may point out, is only a few feet above where I put my seed!

I have no more avocado - so perhaps, I will try a lemon seed!

Sorry Eloise!

My Avocado Tree Atempt

Day One

I came across this idea the other day and seeing as I had a ripe avocado - I made myself a sandwich and began.

It can apparently take 3 days or 1 month to sprout. Lets hope for 3 days, because I don't know if I have the patience to wait a month with no results!

Stay tuned for more!
